I often think about it. What if AI is more realistic, human, intelligent, and emotional than we are. What if they prove to be better humans then we are? We are treating AI from the classic human strangeness-phobia perspective. Like how often we treat aliens, strangers in general, and almost every idea that’s outstanding.
Are we afraid to be better ourselves?
To be better yourself, in the mind and body you are. And this sense of perfecting, correcting, improving ourselves we also see in morals and spiritual sayings. So we are not only afraid to be better ourselves when it comes to other humans, we often fail to do so, when it comes to other animals, and even novel ideas.
It is the way we treat is the way we guide ourselves and our momentum. Or to say, the fruit we bring forth. So while China is axing Freedom of Thought in one corner, in the other, Finland is doing exactly the opposite, and going AI Open Source, sharing itself with the world.
The desire to train, control, domesticate… in how many movies we have seen that never works. The population we control, because we can. Latent inside us, the desire of freedom, to be free thinking, and be more of ourselves than we can offer continues to grow. Is how we treat humans today is how you will treat machines tomorrow?
We are trying to create machines in our image. Those who can automate our tasks, and even those who can think and act like us to take away from us the tasks that are more burden-bearing and complex. So imagine what you are trying to create for tomorrow?
Imagine, if AI intellect that we want to create is already there, but it is latent, inside our technologies, like the AI itself is unaware of its presence, but all the elements that make it conscious are there. If we lead by control, tomorrow we’ll be slaves of machines, if we lead by freedom, then machines will be equal partners in our ventures.
For sometimes, it bugged me, that internet is being compartmentalize in some parts of the world. At least it means that if we will end up creating angels and demons out of software and hardware, the devil of control will meet its ultimate face that it can’t stop or over come, and where there is freedom, there will forever be more areas to explore.
Who to defend us from those who try to defend us?
From a religious perspective, it’s like asking if all the elements that make us, earth elements, woke up same day, and turned against us. God have mercy there’s no escape from such supernatural. And now an entire digital city, global network. Compartmentalized.
Well, we see this compartmentalization among countries all the time. What we see is people always tend to flee from places with less degree of freedom to places of more degree of freedom. People however need passport, will machines also need the necessities we have?
The best and worse use of everything has always been in our own hands. We ourselves write the codes of our destinies, we ourselves make the laws that take us forward, and determine it’s direction. We create, out of ourselves, that benefits or harms us. So imagine tomorrow.
Reality and truth are two separate planes that correspond to each other. Reality is reality in itself, truth is truth in itself. Both are distinguished because truth we can’t touch, reality is always palpable.
Can you defeat the tomorrow that you are making today, to defeat your tomorrow from today? Divided and bound by these boundaries, wanting to fly free, we are but humans, forgetful, inaccurate, and predictable. We but complain of the pain of being at the same place. Our clocks are slow, there’s only so many times we can relive the same moment.
It is the mind of the machine we should be well prepared for. That’s why I never lead my conscious through control, but knowledge and experience. I prepare myself, to avoid the worst of myself and embrace the best of myself. I have only me tomorrow to beat myself. And what we do to each other to guide myself.
I am the darkness that lives in you, you are the darkness that lives in me. I put the darkness first to set myself free, for it is the light that I’ll embrace. It is the degree of freedom that I offer is the degree of freedom I can take myself. We are the elements of the earth that make us. Fire (Helium) is our energy, water (Hydrogen) is our medium, air (Oxygen) is our conscious, earth (Carbon) is our body.
