To Little Girls

“To all the little girls watching…never doubt that you are valuable and powerful & deserving of every chance & opportunity in the world.”

Can’t believe you kept a pin on this message. My heart breaks every day trying to re-imagine the world with you as president in it, and how things could have gone differently. You understood East better, visited places no one else dared to visit. Now the world’s at the mercy of a madman, who thinks he is above the law, how come oval office come to such a new low. It is unbelievable.

I find solace in knowing, that the most diverse nation in the world needs no one’s telling what to do. It is strong, brave, and has risen above tremulous roads before. Including a civil war. That’s where this country is being pushed into.

It is a changing world, where world powers and leaders need to learn to work together. Thoughtful leaders, those who know better. Those who can always let go of grudge, and think of the entire world in terms of people.

Equality across the gradient is a necessary instrument that hauls forward. Without it, injustices arise, we are pushed towards corruption. Racial and religious equality is utterly necessary in these times. Racial equality is more important than religious, as I see it now.

We can’t change the past, only fix the future. That is, every day today. To the women in politics around the world, when Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon, it wasn’t a leap for just one man but mankind. When someday, a woman will lead the oval office, that day, it would be victory of the women all around the world.

Little girl. I take a walk in the woods all the time. It ain’t so bad. Gives gives you a lot to ponder over.

So you never remove that message, keep it pinned so the world can mark the date, and what a great mistake it made when it elected Trump. You keep that message pinned, until the day a women walks into the oval office, and replies to that message sitting there, ‘that’s the message that inspired me to run for the president’.

July 2020.
