Hallelujah. Eating less keeps you young, eating mess makes you old. It isn’t a routine. There isn’t a month, time or period for that. Fasting came as a tradition to help communities cope through difficult times. It was adopted as a tradition just like other things of faith wrongfully described.
Fasting. Not eating so your body or soul can heal. Not doing a particular thing, like not speaking a particular language, not performing a particular task, refraining to use abusive words to grow your patience or not speaking at all. Fasting. Even seclusion, remaining away from people to connect with the inner spirits is also fasting. Fasting brings a moral balance in your character and spirit.
Fasting doesn’t just means what you eat, it means what you absorb. Don’t quit eating, eat smart. Don’t read everything, read useful. Avoid excess, embrace quality. Remember, good advises sound rubbish util…
And there’s a world of difference between volunteer fasting and forced fasting
You are taxpayers. You shouldn’t give away the money you earn by burning your blood and sweat to serve foul. It is better to give away money to charity instead of being fooled into paying for political causes that benefit the high ranks but let the poor suffer.
As people, you’ll always feel more disposed to invest and practice steadfastness when you are following a just preacher. Let no one preach in the name of your faith, doesn’t matter what is your faith, and greedy ones get the best of you because you couldn’t know better.
What is the point of suffering silently if the future continues to be hopeless?
Then it is good time for fasting. Not just fasting on food but fasting on silence and foolishness. Denying to remain silent, deying to be fooled. Fasting on hate, denying to be a hater. Fasting on ill-manners, denying to be part of anyone’s wicked schemes and usage of foul sense and language against anyone.
Fasting on speech. Refusing to say things when you are not sure what to speak or whose side to take if there are sides to take. Refusing to speak for tyrants. And remember, your anger, is fire, in the hands of wrong people it is destruction, in the hands of right people it is passion. Anger should drive you to seek for peace, otherwise, it is pointless energy. Be provoked for good and just things and improve your sense of social justice.
Keep your innocence if the world is loosing it. There’s a decency, in wanting to be alive, conscious, and awake to your self-esteem. Do it as a nation, do it as people of faith. Gracious. God Bless.
