A christian who just got converted from false religion went to a church and asked the pastor. “Father, I get confused whether to follow Jesus The Prophet or Jesus the Christ. Which way do I go?
The pastor answered, “Both. If you want to understand Jesus the Christ, you must through Jesus the Prophet. And if you want to understand Jesus The Prophet, you must through Jesus the Christ.”
“I’m confused father, what do you mean?”
“Child, in the past, people gave great sacrifices to keep their faith and follow the son of God. If you’ll believe right out that Jesus is a prophet, you’ll be desecrating those sacrifices. Christianity follows the son, and faith is thing of bravery. If you can’t call him son of God, then what good is your calling him a prophet?”
“Why father, I don’t get it. If Jesus was a son of…”
“Mary didn’t know whether her child was the son of God, the prophet or the messiah. Those who came to rever Jesus told him who he was. Look son, for matter of faith, you can even call Jesus an oridinary man, but for the matter of spirit, you must know that Jesus wasn’t just a prophet.”
“Father, it looks like the church will be divided in the future.”
“No son, Jesus will be known as Son of God, a prophet, and an obedient son of Adam and Abraham. Just like David, Just like Moses.”
FYI: Why Moses is the closest among prophets to Jesus? Distance of Jerusalem, Cairo. Of Course, Paul was closest to Jesus among friends and apostles.
“So many attributes, why can’t we just give him the one that’s the truth.”
“Think of this in this way son, if Jesus was a prophet, and on his return he discovered what his followers believed, would he let his people, his follower to go to hell alone for believing that he’s son of God? No, Jesus would go to hell with them. He will make hell his heaven and pave away the way for his people away from the fire of hell. Even through an apostle betrayed him, but he played for their mercy till his death.”
“Father, I just got to christianity, sometimes I get these reservations and concerns.”
“Child, forget Jesus. It is Christianity that you must follow. And we christians believe that we are all children of God, we live in peace in the universe by making a relation towards it very fabric. How do we know who we truly are without the knowledge of our origins and our end? Even faiths become apostatic when it comes to solid answers. We, my child, are like faith balls rolling on a fabric of faith, when no one truly knows, we believe the Christ knew the best.”
“So do I worship Jesus?”
The priest smiled, “O child, don’t worship Jesus, sends blessing upon him for giving us the beautiful light of faith. Sing your heart out for the blessings God gave you, that’s it. Christ gave us his faith, made us Christans, Christanity is the rope and we are always hanging on the cliff of our sins.”
“Is really man so sinful that he needs faith. Can’t we live without being religious?”
“Some look to faith for growth, some for salvations, some for the love of faith. You go how you feel it, but you must feel it, feel your faith in your bones.”
“Back in Islam, we weren’t allowed to call the name of prophet without adding peace be upon him. Christans troll Jesus all the time.”
The pastor laughed, “That’s because Jesus makes us feel fresh when we make fun of him. Otherwise, you can call him Jesus Blessings be upon him. Jesus Christ PHUH? Cool. Yeah, I’d rather just go with Jesus.”
“Son, reverence is one which is truly located in your heart. If it is not their, on your tongue and lips, are nothing but dances of words. Until Jesus returns and clarifies things that are not clear to us, we must rely on the Christianity we know and love. Christianity is a faith of hope, and where hopes go, no other power has the reach.”
… God of Jesus, Christ, God of Christ, Holy One, God of Holy One, Jesus, God of Jesus, Christ… did you not read somewhere, “do not say three, say one, do not separate elements of Trinity, for they can’t be separated.” Get the trident, get the triangle, get the trinity, get your BGR (Back Ground Revival)
“Still confusing…”
“Alright kid, now you are getting on my nerve now get going.”
“So rude, I’m going back to false religion.”
“That’s only an added benefits of Christanity, because there’s always a choice in Christanity, not to be found in your former faith. I’ve heard faith deserters of that faith are punishable by death? In Christanity, faith deserters are punishable by two words, go explore! Home will be right here, where you left it. C’mon now, get out, I’d get like ten converts and I’ve only wasted time on you. “
“Damn, and I thought social media is rude.”
“Get out”
“But what about the people who think Jesus didn’t die for their…”
“You know what, just stay here, I don’t need ten dollars from anyone to quit and leave the church just right now,” said the pastor like a movie villain was started walking towards the church door. The new convert followed him, “wait… what about the church, who is going to take care of it. and…” so on and on and blah blah blah.
Alright now look towards the narrator. Confusion is the enemy of faith and believing can be fun. Believe what you want but make sure it is what you believe. If you have searched and long for it, you’ve truly found and believed it. So search a little, look a little for truth. To christanity, always be faithful. Over and out.
