Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you… because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. I will not leave you comfortless. I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.
I will come to you… I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He (Ghost-guided) shall glorify the truth: for he shall receive (spirit) of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
The Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. whatsoever (advises) I have said unto you. These things (teachings) have I told you.
When the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of truth: and ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now… Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
